About The Event
Cooking sustainably is a great way to reduce your impact on the environment, people, and animals. There are plenty of ways to cook sustainably and in a way that decreases your “foodprint”:
- Using vegetable parts you normally throw away or food scraps
- Reducing the amount of meat in your meals
- Composting leftover scraps
- And more!
Net Impact Edmonton is happy to partner with Chef Neil Royale to learn more about vegan cooking!
Neil is well-known in the Edmonton vegan communities thanks to his delicious plant-based southern food and pizzas. He will teach us one of his own recipes: Panzanella Flatbread. It consists of herb-infused ‘Ricotta’ and pickled baby Jem tomato salad over a toasted Focaccia bread. We will learn how to make the vegan ‘Ricotta’ and the pickled tomato salad.
Registrants will receive a list of ingredients to pick up in advance of the session, and Chef Neil will show us how to transform those ingredients in to a delicious vegan Ricotta!
In addition, we partnered with the Leftovers Foundation to discuss further ways to be more sustainable with our food consumption.
